Five Friday Faves

We roam the web like it’s our job, and on our travels we see lots of interesting things. These are the best things we saw on the Internet this week.

The TSA’s Instagram has more followers than yours.

True or False: Brass Knuckle Knives are allowed on airplanes.

And by “True or False” I mean “Are you seriously even thinking about this?” and “Just thinking about it gets it confiscated.”

If anything over 3oz of liquid is out, then you can bet your bottom dollar that brass knuckle knives are. Of all the idiotic things people try to travel with, Blogger Bob with the TSA has seen them all. Besides, if you’re trying to pack light, at least opt for the shiv next time, OK buddy?

olivia-pope-with-wineA beverage two-fer: Coffee could lower your risk of heart attack, and a glass of red wine is equivalent to an hour at the gym.

Of course this is on the list. We drink more red wine than Olivia Pope, and subsequently need the coffee to keep us on task. Water is for oceans and plants, so you’ll have to pry the coffee mugs from our cold, dead, shaking hands. Now, if someone could get us a sponsorship with Crest Whitening Strips, we’ll be on our way.

March is a great time to check in on your New Year’s ResolutionsTrophy Image 3

Remember those old things? While you’re getting your late-afternoon caffeine fix (see above), you can also get your late-Winter pick-me-up. March often melts by, not good enough for spring or winter, but you can use it as a time to reevaluate your plans and recommit if you’ve been derailed. Even if you gave up just after midnight on January 2, remember that it’s never too late to be awesome. Grab a cuppa and let’s go! See you in the Winner’s Circle, champ.

Screen Shot 2015-03-06 at 2.01.28 PMMaybe spending less time on Facebook would also be good for your productivity.

Guess what! You spent 1,300 minutes browsing Facebook from your phone last month. Guess what else?? That’s not where mobile users are spending the most time. Pandora is the #1 smartphone app, with users spending an average of 1,332.7 hours a month on the app. For context, there are 1,440 minutes in a day. For emphasis, YOU SPENT AN ENTIRE DAY ON FACEBOOK, INTERNET, which I’m pretty sure is NOT on that list for a productive year.

Finally, this week in cats…Screen Shot 2015-03-06 at 2.01.55 PM

Forget all those old tropes about cats fighting/eating birds, because cats just can’t even with these avis anymore.  These cats will not have any of their love; they’re just not ~feline~ it. What else is new?
